Peace Volunteer 1-on-1 Cross-Cultural Conversations on Sunday mornings are designed to help participants grow in cultural awareness by sharing personal experiences, listening respectfully, and learning about the rich complexity of each other’s backgrounds. Every attendee is a Peace Volunteer serving as a Cultural Ambassador, promoting understanding, collaboration, and community. In addition to cultural learning, many come to improve language fluency, build friendships, network professionally, or feel supported. Volunteers are encouraged to discuss all types of culture—including religious and political—without pressuring others to change their views. If inviting someone to another event, be clear about its content, especially if it involves religion or politics. Romantic interest is not appropriate in this space. Overall, the event fosters a respectful, inclusive environment grounded in research and aimed at building peace through cross-cultural dialogue.
